Sopwell Residents have their say

June 2006

35 Sopwell residents and 22 local community groups attended a public meeting earlier this month to have their say about their community, with many signing up to become more actively involved in focus groups to inform decision making. Key issues of interest were health, environment and leisure

Laura Cronshaw St Albans CVS said, "this is a great example of how local people can take a leading role in shaping local priorities and services and an opportunity for service providers to really understand the needs of their customers"

To meet demand, and identify actions across the key areas of interest, follow up sessions have been arranged, all to be held at Mandeville School:

Health - 1pm 10th July 2006
Environment - 6.30pm 10th July 2006
Leisure - 6.30pm 17th July 2006

If you live, work or volunteer in Sopwell and want to make sure your voice is heard you are welcome to attend any one or all of these sessions, or visit www.cvsstalbans.org.uk or ring 01727 852657 for more information.

The Sopwell initiative is supported by the St Albans and District Local Strategic Partnership.
